Crashing girls and chilly days in Tasmania

I have made the official decision that the National Animal of Tasmania is to be changed to......ROADKILL!! I have never seen so much roadkill in all my life! It is terrible, all these animals bodies scattered on the roadside.
An early morning flight meant the day stretched ahead and was not to be wasted. It had started to drizzle and was getting rather chilly, but this was not a deterrent for the adventurer. First stop was a rather scary ride on the chairlift at Cataract Gorge in Launceston, which proudly claims to be the
It was rather scary staring down at the rocks below, but well worth the trip, especially when you get off at the top and take strolls through the gardens and along the edges of the Gorge itself.
There is a really nice tea garden at the top where a hot cup of coffee goes down very well. There are all sorts of birds that fly around and peacocks that shake their beautiful plummage at you as you watch.
Launceston is a rather quiet town, very quaint with small alleyways disappearing down flower-coloured corridors where vendors open their doors to sell their wares. A short drive up a windy road takes you to a breath-taking view over the whole city and churches.....there are loads of them scattered all throughout Tasmania...
I was staying at the Launceston Backpackers which is very clean and highly recommended. It was getting chilly as the sun was starting to set so it was time for me to find my bed for the night. Just as you enter a long wooden staircase disappears up to the higher level rooms and as I walked through to the Reception there was this enormous crashing sound. Suddenly a suitcase followed by a startled girl appeared at the bottom of it in a heap. I know I shouldn't, but when I realised that she was ok all I could do was laugh. Everytime I think of that place I always remember the crashing sound and then the look on the girls face....Bless her!
