"In some ways, I think travel is about learning how to see, learning how to pay attention. It's an alarm clock in some ways, and it's a jumpstart to putting our senses on the setting where they're universally receptive. I think theoretically we could do that at our homes, and yet somehow, surrounded by familiarity and the routine we know too well, our eyes tend to close and we don't notice the things that are so wondrous for a visitor. But as soon as we physically start moving we awaken to the beauties around us." --Pico Iyer

Robbie Williams rocks Brisbane

December 17th 2006 13:53
Oh bother! I typed out a whole post singing the man`s praises and now it is lost somewhere! GGGGRRRRRR! So I will let the pictures do the talking , get all the Robbie talk out of my system and tomorrow return to the real world! For those of you who went - was it not the most perfect night????? YES!!!

The man himself

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

The audience lights up the stadium

I screamed myself hoarse, I sang at the top pf my lungs and I rang almost every person there was in my phone book. After all those months of the tickets being on the fridge and a constant daily reminder, it was all worth it in the end. (Even if he did get into trouble for cranking up the sound and fined for smoking on stage!) So for those of you who still have the pleasure - I would see if they have tickets for the next night...and the next...and the next.....

My girlfriends sister went to the same concert and said he was taking pills on stage (probably not for medicinal purposes) and supposedly his eyes were so large they were rivalling the Powder Puff Girls.
This effect also hampered his show which could have been a lot better and was described as slightly disappointing.

Hi Ash

You got some great pics, you must've been pretty close to the stage?

Hi Tracy,
Yeah we were pretty lucky as we swopped tickets with some friends who had already been to a previous show. They are a little blurry but I think I was too busy jumping up and down to care!
Great night!

That's great. I saw him in Sydney a few years ago and he was brilliant then and very charismatic...

yes the perfect entertainer - sings, has a bit of a chat, gets the audience participating.

He even snogged someone from the crowd when we saw him...a big stage snog, but still a snog nonetheless....

I'm not into his music, but I hear that he's a brilliant performer...

Ah you see Tracy, now that he is married to me he feels it is wrong to kiss other woman - see I have started to turn his life around already!

Greetings Cibbuano,
Yes! He is an entertainer - a lotof bands come on stage and they think the crowd are only interested in listening to them sing. However, in most of the concerts I have seen of Robbie Williams, he talks to the crowd and enjoys himself on stage as much as the audience enjoys themselves watching.
