Isn`t Australia amazing?

Day two saw us waking to a clear day with blue skies and only very small wispy clouds floating in the air. We were starving when we woke up and could not be bothered to get the fire going to cook breakfast so waited 20 minutes for the shop at the campsite to open. HOt food in the tummy, a little bird feeding and we were off.
Within seconds of leaving the campsite you meander along the mountain road with thick jungle on either side. Every so often a road turns to the left or right that leads to a new walk.There are many of these so you would have to do the research into which one takes your fancy.
The road then starts a steep descent down to normal level and you cannot believe the immediate change in scenery. Going from lush green vegetation to miles and miles of dry, sun baked fields. The chilly air was left up in the mountains and now the dry heat created hazy dancing air on the horizon. We managed to get hopelessly lost and our trip north ended up in a trip south to Toowoomba, then back up again to Hervey Bay.
Hervey Bay is such a beautiful place, it deserves a post all of its own. We checked into a campsite, pitched our tents a metre from the beach and sat under tall trees watching the sun going and the nightly flight of the bats that dot the sky. Why pay hundreds of collars to stay in a hotel when you can pay $10 and sleep a stones throw from the beach?
