"In some ways, I think travel is about learning how to see, learning how to pay attention. It's an alarm clock in some ways, and it's a jumpstart to putting our senses on the setting where they're universally receptive. I think theoretically we could do that at our homes, and yet somehow, surrounded by familiarity and the routine we know too well, our eyes tend to close and we don't notice the things that are so wondrous for a visitor. But as soon as we physically start moving we awaken to the beauties around us." --Pico Iyer

Ah, sunset, Ash, and there you are that tiny figure to the right, left of centre.

Great shot, great sea, great beach, tiny Ash.

Hiya JD,

Well I day dream of going ALL over the world... so this could be a very long lasting blog... and a danger because the more places that I see in the world the more I want to travel.... and I really should, at some stage, try and be a responsible young lady and settle down ~chuckle~ yeah right!

I was thinking about a little history lesson on travel first actually and then see what happens from there~

Hiya Katyzzz,

yeah I`m more of a 'behind the camera' kinda gal... I much prefer it that way... and when there is such beautiful scenery to catch you can see why I like it that way

Thanks Lilla

Yeah I didn`t really want to get too involved as I was actually contemplating on stopping writing all together but I love it too much... it`s my relaxation time and I can feel with the practise of even writing garbled rambles the flow is getting better so I must press on!

Thanks for your comments today Ash! I love this picture, by the way. Sunsets/sunrises are one of those things that stay with you wherever you go, but I can never seem to get enough of!
