Woodford Folk Festival
December 26th 2006 08:48
Tomorrow, 27th December, marks the start of the Woodford Folk Festival on Australia`s Sunshine Coast. I have never been so cannot give a first hand account of it, but I have heard so much about it this year I thought I would give it a try.
There seems to be a really good line up or artists and bands from around the world and the website offers some great photos and accounts of the whole experience it sounds like it is going to be a great time. I know that we need the rain, but that is going to make it even more interesting, especially when it comes to the camping bit! I have never tested our new tent in the rain and I did not really think to ask about it being waterproof (DUH!!!!) so we could be sleeping in the car if it isn`t!
If you have ever been I would love to hear what you thought of it. If you are on the Sunshine Coast and a little lost about what to do besides twiddle your thumbs and wait for New Year why not give this a go. You can check out the website here to get a better idea if you are interested.

I think Brenton is going [Tales From the Other Side] too ... we're giving it a miss this year in favour of 'something different' ... let us know how you go... it is always so good, you will have a blast... ooh two things...
take good ear plugs - and i don't mean hazy ones... I mean GOOD noise-tight ones, and aeroguard, lots of it...
You'll have a ball... some of the sights at night time are out of this world.... especially up in the trees - so remember to 'look up.' *wink, hint, grin*
;O)

Thanks for that. It`s a bit up in the air at the moment, was laid upon us yesterday. We are only going for the one night as I finally get some time off work - make the most of it!
Thanks for the words of advice I shall heed the warnings! Mozzies are my worst enemy and flies rank right up there with them, I have a wonderful collection of dots of my legs from the other night - can start my own "Join the Dots" game on my leg.
I shall do some looking up for sure. I got a new star gazing book for Chrissie which I plan on memorizing before I head off!
Enjoy your 'something else' I hope it is grand

The atmosphere there at night was incredible, I didn`t want to leave. There were certainly some very interesting sights...very interesting indeed. I`m just sorry that I never went before - next year will definately take the time to get around the whole festival - we missed out on so much.
I remembered to 'look up' though - I wish I could have cut that patch out of the sky so I could hang it up above my house every night!
Happy New Year - I hope 2007 and is a wonderful year for you and your family.
